Dr. Todd Anderson may use the iTero® digital scanner to examine your mouth and provide you with custom-made oral appliances and restorations. Using the iTero scanner, we can ensure that your treatment is perfectly tailored to your unique needs.
What is iTero Digital Scanning?
iTero digital scanning is a state-of-the-art imaging technology used to capture images of your teeth and supporting structures. This advanced scanner captures up to 20 images per second in full color, and can even simulate your treatment outcome to show what your end result will look like!
How Does iTero Scanning Work?
When you receive iTero digital scanning, our dentist and team will pass a small wand over the surfaces of your mouth. As the wand passes over your teeth it will capture images and immediately transmit them to a nearby monitor. The scan can be stopped and started as needed to ensure your comfort, and the pictures are saved automatically to prevent you from needing to sit through a second scan. As the images are in full color, our dentist can easily distinguish between healthy and diseased tissue to diagnose developing problems. Your scan may be used for a variety of purposes, including
- Building accurate digital impressions and models of your mouth
- Creating restorations for damaged or missing teeth
- Creating oral appliances that fit and function better, including mouth guards and clear aligners
